Crossing Bridges

A gun was pulled on me just across this famous bridge.

Me, just chillin.

That was the first time I was in Selma. I don't have a picture of that! 😂

Nobody pressed me when I visited the bridge again a few weeks ago.

So I got to think about how brave those civil rights leaders were as they marched from Selma to Montgomery. As clubs swung at them, as dogs jumped at them.

There's a flame inside people fighting to reform the criminal justice system today.

That eternal flame was lit by people who crossed physical bridges like the Edmund Pettus Bridge, and the many more who crossed metaphorical bridges to make things more just and better for all of us.

Cross a bridge before the end of the year. A bridge that might frighten you or make you nervous.

You'll be better for it. We'll all be better for it.
